To the Editor:
Last season,
sparse snow and lots of work prevented me from making it to the big mountains. But
two small “day hills” nearby that I found to be absolutely charming were
Mohawk Mtn. in CT and Nashoba Valley in MA.
Mohawk was one
of the first ski resorts (to make snow!) in the country and has a lovely lodge,
and wide sunny deck. And they are kind enough to let local kids slide free.
Nashoba is
tiny, but close to Boston, and pretty.
As a fanatic
“grown-up” snowboarder, I find any hill is better than sitting out! And
Nashoba even has hill features for snowboarders and a full Ski Market on premises!
