1. Snowboard Events Happening

Snowboarding is all around! even though the leaves have barely started changing colors here.

The snowboard teams have hit the road with their film premieres. Check the Snowboard Events Calendar to see what's going on, at http://www.SnowboardEventsCalendar.com (hint, if you're lazy at typing and don't have it bookmarked yet, just type www.SBeventscalendar.com/ and that will work too.)

The Snowboard Events Calendar is my creation, going on its 3rd season. It's the biggest snowboard events calendar online, and made to be easy to read. On-snow events are lots of fun to attend. Don't think you need to be competing to go! So check the calendar for events near you. New events go up all the time so check often.

Last year we added a California calendar too. (Cali readers - I need help getting in touch with the resorts to have them add their events. Can I get an intern? There are perks!!)

Anyway, last week I hit the Grenade/Vans "Smell the Glove" movie premier and live music fest at Specialty Sports in Pompton Plains, NJ. Saw old and new friends and lots of skateboarding kids. Fun.

Tonite I'm headed to the Burton World Tour Party at Avalon in NYC. Check out the calendar at http://www.SnowboardEventsCalendar.com

In the next issue of the Szine, watch for a description of the latest cool articles we've posted up online. I like to keep the Szine pretty short, so we'll wait til next time. (If you can't wait, peek here:

2. New! Who's Who in Snowboarding

SnowboardPROfiles.com is my newest creation - the Who's Who in Snowboarding. It's the place where ANY sponsored rider can post his or her profile and pictures up for the world to see (and Google to find!)

If you're sponsored, go for it at http://www.SnowboardPROfiles.com.

This summer I got to interview Jeremy Jones (Rossignol) and Scotty Lago and Antti Autti (Flow Team). Their interviews are up, at http://www.SnowboardPROfiles.com, of course.

Antti Autti came in third at the US Open Halfpipe, and took the gold and bronze in the 2 halfpipe comps in September at The FIS Snowboard World Cup Valle Nevado, Chile. Antti is now the overall leader in FIS Halfpipe for the season and will be competing for Finland on their Olympic Team.

Find out what Antti Autti's secret vice is at http://www.SnowboardPROfiles.com.

Stop Snowboard Crime!

Snowboard Registry.com.
http://www.SnowBoardRegistry.com

Register your snowboard serial number to help prevent snowboard crime.

And check serial numbers there before you buy a used board to make sure you're not buying someone's stolen board.

- Because it's bad karma to ride a stolen board! http://www.SnowBoardRegistry.com ==========================================
3. Awesome Snowboard Art

Remember the Woodstock Tattoo and Body Art Festival that I covered last September? http://www.snowboardsecrets.com/Articles/woodstk.htm

The Snowboard Art Exhibit "Rides of Passage" debuted there, then traveled to NYC, LA, Burlington VT, and Austria and is going to Amsterdam and Tokyo. It features 117 of the top tattoo and graffiti artists in the world doing original works of art on blank boards provided by Burton.

A 180 page hard back book on the exhibit has just come out. It features full page shots of all of the boards. There is a "details" section (shot by Ricky Levinson who is a great snowboard photographer, he shoots all of Burton, Gravis, and Analog), and highlights from the various openings with the participating artists and Burton pro riders hanging out together. Pretty cool stuff. I hear the book looks fantastic.

The book is available at http://www.woodstocktattoo.com
