1. Exciting Snowboard Events Covered Here!
Hey Gang,
I've been busy attending exciting snowboard events lately and covering them
for my SnowboardSecrets.com website. Don't get me wrong - I'm NOT
complaining. It's been a blast. And I'm psyched at all the great pictures
I've just posted up on the site.
It occurs to me, I don't know of any other websites that are giving "up
close and personal" coverage of snowboard events with lots of pictures
(riders faces!) like my site does. See the newly chosen snowboard Olympians
here on my site - see the smiling faces that usually hide behind goggles, as
they pose next to your intrepid reporter - that's ME! Check it out - links
below!
Also, the NY City Snowboarders meetup group run by our friend Saran is going
strong, with several events a week. To visit New York Snowboarding Group, go
here:

And this Wednesday is the "Double Trouble Chill Jam" at Whitetail Mountain
Resort in PA to Benefit the Burton Chill program. The young and fabulous
O'Leary Twins, with plenty of behind-the-scenes hard work from their Dad
Kevin, have turned this first-time event into a monster, not to be missed.
Prizes for all entrants. Wed. under the lights Skiers welcome! 2 classes -
beginners, + all others $20 fee - all goes to Chill. Register 4-6 pm. Jam is
6 to 8 pm.. Don't Miss it!
By the way, Travers and Reagan O'Leary are sharing their weekly snowboarding
experiences with us all at their blog on our site. Check out

We don't mean to be so "East Coast-centric", but I can't help it -this is
where I live and ride.
If you can help us cover a wider area by doing a photo essay of an event
near you for the site, drop me a line. Maybe we can fix you up with a media
pass. We have more California subscribers than from any other state. C'mon
you Cali's, help us out!

2. New York City Central Park Rail Jam 2006 went down!
It finally happened, despite the snowless conditions. And it was exciting!

3. Grand Prix at Mountain Creek Determines US Olympic Team
2006
PICTURES HERE!
* What do you think the atmosphere is like at the top of the halfpipe before
the Finals? It's not what you'd imagine. Read about it and see it here.
* Did you ever notice Andy Finch's million dollar smile?
* Shaun White vanishes into the crowd after the comp. is postponed. How did
he do it?
Check it out here.
And don't forget to click the link on that page that says "Click for full
list and more pictures" for the JUICY pictures. You can even see Flow Team
Manager Andrew Mutty without his ever-present cap on, for the first time
ever. Go-go dancers too.

4. Place to Crash in NH. Ski Clubs in NH - even if you
don't live there!
Szine reader Deb writes:
"Did you and your NY friend know about the Ski Clubs in NH?
I started skiing and by the 2nd year, I was really wishing I had a place up
North to crash so I could slide on Sunday too. I joined the Ski Bees (www.ski-bees.com)
but there are like 26 clubs. Check out
www.eicsl.org and
look at the 'clubs'. Some are geared for singles through families. What's
great is a place to crash and new people to meet who also like to ski/board.
Oh sure, there's the strange old guy or the whiny chick (what group doesn't
have those mascots?) but most are perfectly nice and social.

5. New England Area Bus Trips
Deb also sent this: (Thanks again Deb!)
"I wasted some time pulling together some links to New England area bus
trips.
Why? Because no one wants to drive by themselves and what if you want to go
mid-week? Pluses, if you are tired and want to stop sliding but the bus
isn't leaving for awhile. Hit the bar (you're not driving for 2 hours). I
can't go cause I haven't quit smoking therefore I'd be crabby. But perhaps
others would like the alternative of grabbing a bus!
Bye,
Deb
