What Our Readers Do for Snowless Fun

Subscribe to the Snowboard Szine here for more fun ideas.

I went on R&R in July and flew to Dubai. It is one of the 7 countries in the UAE. Interestingly enough, there is an indoor ski slope located at the Mall of The Emirates. I visited the place twice and thought that I would try the slope out. Its an excellent place to be during the hot summer season. Both times that I went there, I ended up staying both afternoons. Who says you can't snowboard in the middle of the desert during the summer time?

Just an additional note. The times that I went to Ski Dubai, I met people from all over the world. Even those from Europe where skiing is the norm of life. The outdoor picture is of the structure from a distance. These are the last of the pics that I'm sending you. Take care and God bless.

Since Mammoth was open until July 4th, I went in mid June...it was not as good as last year, but still awesome...I try surfing every summer, but am not too good yet...and I try to get up to Mt. Hood, where Timberline Lodge is open for snow all summer...

I roadrace GP motorcycles for my summer fun. Kneedraggin'. Getting a late start this season due to the multiple pinning surgeries for my broken thumb from the last weekend at Stratton. Weird things is I've crashed BAD in races, hit walls, had bikes run over me at the end of the straight, emergency room visits I don't remember . . . more broken bones from snowboarding!!!!!

Hi Lauren.
What I want to do this summer is learn mountain boarding. I got onto this kick watching Lindsay during the profile of her in the Olympics.
Any hints, places to rent, buy, get lessons and ride a mountain board?

Wish WE could go to a snowboard camp, but we'll spend summer camping and Jeeping in the mountains. We love doing ANYTHING in the mountains!
